  1. Be honest, they've heard it a million times before.

They will NOT violate your privacy. They will not give you a urine test.

They only need to know that in case they're prescribing medicine or you're getting surgery.

  2. it depends on the doctor...maybe you shuld stop smoking.....

  3. i don't know but, i think you should be honest

  4. Its patient privacy they have no rights to tell other people including the police if they do you can sue them

  5. When a doctor asks this he or she is usually only interested in the bad smoke: cigarettes.

So if you don't smoke cigs, you can just say "no"

  6. if i was  you just say the truth

  7. only if he asks u if u do drugs or smoke illegal substances.

  8. i don't think that they can tell the police. the doc will probably tell you to quit though, which you should.

  9. There is doctor - patient privacy, the best way is to call the doctor's office annonomously and ask that question, they should be able to tell you how they would respond.

Maybe you'll get lucky and have an RN or doctor answer on here for you!

  10. there is patient privacy laws.  You should be completely honest with your doctor so he can give you a proper diagnosis.  He won't call the cops on you unless you are getting abused or something like that.

  11. I don't think they will tell the police.

Plus you should not hide anything from your doctor and from your lawyer.

  12. Generally a doctor won't tell the police that you smoke weed...

If you admit to selling it, it may be another story.....

  13. You should tell the truth. The doctor might help you.

  14. DUH! Just be honest. NO, he's not going to tell the police. Yes, there is doctor-patient confidentiality.

  15. I think doctors take an oath that all patients records and such are completely confidential. He can't and won't say a word.

  16. Why wouldn't you want to tell the doctor you smoke? Your doctor is only trying to help.

  17. No, they don't.

  18. there is patient privacy. they don't tell anyone but probably talk about JUST with YOU ways to quit.

  19. It is called patient confidentiality andthey do not tell the police. It is best to tell your doctor any drugs, perscription or otherwise, so he will know what medication you can use for various health problems. All drugs are toxins that are being put in your body and they all react differently with other drugs, food, or alcohol.

  20. I don't think they would call the police. When the doctor asks you that he's talking about cigarettes, I would say no. If he asks if you smoke drugs I would say that you have but, it's been a long time. Then ask him why he would ask that. A doctors there to help you.

  21. There is privacy. But you shouldn't be smoking at all.

Not to sound like I'm your mother or anything.

But I'm sure she'd say the same thing.

  22. They can't tell anyone by law! Be honest but be prepared for a lecture.  You might be suprised though some Dr.'s tell you it's safer to do that then drink!

  23. there is 100% privacy...doctors are like lawyers....you are always better off telling the truth...and i dont know how old you are, but privacy also means they can't tell your parents either.

  24. j tell him u do sm0ke n u r tryin 2 quit but u cant l0l  im sure that he rolled  ^ a few blunts b4 l0l

  25. Quit smoking.

  26. The truth will set you free.

  27. Hi :) When the doc asks you if you smoke, he means cigs. So say no, After this he'll ask you if you use drugs, tell him what you smoke, he'll want to know how much and how often :)

He cant call the Cops, the only way you can be arrested is if they find it on you or in your car, even then, cops will give you a ticket if it's a small amount (personal use).

Get ready for a lecture though! So be prepared, He's more than likely going to tell you to stop, but ask why! Tell him to show you or let you know of any evidence that proves that what you smoke is harmful... Don't go for the all time sermon of "just because"... Name a study, point to concrete evidence not the school propaganda of "Just say No"! :)

I usually try to find a doc that is ok with my lifestyle, you cant be afraid to ask why or to say, "This is my personal choice, give me hard evidence to prove your point then we can talk :) "

  28. Stoner! lmao!

no they will not give u a drug test...

if they do they will not call the cops on u!

cops have to caught it n ur possession 2 arrest u!

    n e ways...

just tell them ur a smoker when they ask...

their not gonna ask u what u smoke!

but if ur having smoker's complications...

they need to diagnose it correctly.

    it's ur health!

  29. Doctor Patient Confidentiality.  They just want to know because they are assessing your health and everything in your life that contributes to your current health.
