  1. Technically, and contrary to all your other answers, yes it does invalidate it.

All roadsigns, markings and information boards have a strict format which have to be adhered to. If they don't meet the regulations they cannot be enforced.

I have attached two links, one of them is the entire Road Sign Regulations of 2002, the second is the specific section of the act which relates to your question and includes formats and sizes.

I realise I'm going to get a lot of thumbs down, but read the regulations and research the stated cases, you're all wrong.

  2. NO

  3. I don't think so.

  4. No, as mentioned, a double yellow line is still a double yellow line.

  5. double line  joined or not is a double line

    get real

  6. No.  Some highway departments do that to signal the end of the double line, but the failure to signal the end does not change the traffic laws.

  7. No, legally all that has to be there is a sign.

  8. Invalid, I can remember in local news paper that a man parked his car on a double yellow line and was not correctly marked on the road ie no end markings and as usual was given a parking ticket. This person took it to court and for what ever the reason had WON  the court case. It clearly states in the U.K highway code book the correct markings joined at the end. the lines not joined class it as invalid. Also another way to find out if you done this before take it to court and you be surprise that you probably win.

  9. no,just pay the ticket and get on with your life.

  10. I hope you have something more than this to say to the judge!!! Good luck.

  11. Not as far as I'm aware.

Whenever I've filled out a ticket for this offence I always noted that the vehicle was parked on clearly marked double yellow lines regardless of if they were joined together or not.

  12. The yellow lines are just a general guide that there are parking restrictions.  You must alway check the details on the nearby sign.  If there is no nearby sign, the lines do not constitute a valid traffic instruction, and can be ignored.

You will get a ticket, but photograph the nearby posts to show there is no sign and the case will be thrown out.

  13. NO! A double yellow is a double yellow whether it joins at the end or not....................

  14. Most of them in this area aren't joined together. That's a good one.

  15. Its still valid.

  16. not at all,now pay the ticket ,move on,and start sharin what ever the h**l it is youre smokin with the rest of us,its not nice to be so selfish.
