If the father had p**n in the home and the son happened to stumble upon it, and later developed the habit of watching p**n because he thinks it's okay since his father also had it - did the father do his son an injustice?

Would the burden of breaking this bad habit then fall upon the son, so that he doesn't perpetuate this negative habit when he has his own son - in an otherwise endless cycle?

  1. yes a bad father, and the burden would be ON THE father

  2. Yes of course it is the father's fault...HE is supposed to be a role model for his son... and the son has a right to be angry and disappointed.

  3. Wouldn't make him a bad father. The guy may have condoms in the house too. Those are also adult-only items but if the son found them it doesn't mean that birth control is bad. It only means that some items in the house are not suitable for possession by minors. Maybe he should have been more careful about leaving adult-only items where his son could find them, but that's all.

The father should make sure that his son no longer can access the material and tell him that he is not allowed to possess adult material. The fact that the father has p**n is not relevant.
