If a friend is on the verge of contemplating Suicide what can you do?

I have a friend who thought about committing suicide a few days ago but I convinced him my hardest not to do it but I'm afraid he might think about it again and it saddens me very much =( His life has been very tough on him what can I do to help him? What can I say to make it better? I'm trying my hardest and I don't want anyone bad to happen to him and I've prayed for him. Can someone please help me?

Tell him all the things he would be giving up and maybe show him some pictures of good times he's had maybe he would change his mind.

Geez, sounds like a serious situation.  Sucide is very dangerous and can take over your life just like that.  Tell him that you love him a lot and want to stay with you for the rest of the life.

tell him that you want to talk to him about his problems and that your really conserned and tell him that you really want to help him and also that you really care about him

the easiest thing to do is to say thatjust because your life is rough doen't mean that you have to throw it away

I have had a tough time myself. i haven't ever had a REAL friend in my life. I have had a lot of deciets and i switched schools in the middle of 7th grade. I thought about IT once but then i remembered that i wanted to be a horse geneticist and a exotic or emergency vet. Tell him if he needs to talk I'm here because i have had to talk to alot of people to help me with my rough life. Plz tell hm that you love him!
