A Permanent Resident of the United States can travel freely outside of the US. A passport from the country of citizenship is normally all that is needed. To reenter the US a Permanent Resident normally needs to present the green card (Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551) for readmission. Your question doesn't make sense...Green Cards relates to US residency and has no impact on how long you can stay in the Phil...that would depend on your citizenship/visa status in the Phil.

If you have a valid passport and green card, you can stay outside the US for 6 months. If it is going to be over 6 months, you must contact the US consulate. If it is a year or over, you forfeit the green card.

If you are a permanent resident, you can stay out of the country a year or more if you apply for and are granted a re-entry permit by USCIS prior to leaving the country. However, to become a citizen, you must have 5 years of continuous residency and staying abroad for more than a year will typically break it regardless of whether a re-entry permit is issued/used.

umm... im a filipino citizen and also a green card holder... I believe you can stay there for a year, as long as you come back in the US every 3 months at least for 2 days. Coz I know if you're out of the country for more than 3 months then your green card will be voided. so you would have to come back and forth which is nice so you can get some more pasalubong from the US!
