  1. They will confiscate your Green Card

and Deport you asap...at any Port

    of Entry into the USA...

  2. You can stay outside the U.S. for up to one year if you have a Green Card. Visits of over one year must be approved in advance by U.S. CIS. Even trips of up to one year may cause questions upon reentry about your intentions to be a resident of the U.S. If you stay for over one year, but less than two, you need to get a reentry permit from the nearest U.S. Embassy or consulate before you can go back. This is from the U.S. CIS Website:

    International Travel

A Permanent Resident of the United States can travel freely outside of the US. A passport from the country of citizenship is normally all that is needed. To reenter the US a Permanent Resident normally needs to present the green card (Permanent Resident Card, Form I-551) for readmission. A reentry permit is needed for reentry for trips greater than one year but less than two years in duration.

You can find more information about travel documents from "How Do I Get a Travel Document?"

  3. Your question doesn't make sense...Green Cards relates to US residency and has no impact on how long you can stay in the Phil...that would depend on your citizenship/visa status in the Phil.

  4. If you have a valid passport and green card, you can stay outside the US for 6 months. If it is going to be over 6 months, you must contact the US consulate. If it is a year or over, you forfeit the green card.

If you are a permanent resident, you can stay out of the country a year or more if you apply for and are granted a re-entry permit by USCIS prior to leaving the country. However, to become a citizen, you must have 5 years of continuous residency and staying abroad for more than a year will typically break it regardless of whether a re-entry permit is issued/used.

  5. Err what?

  6. umm... im a filipino citizen and also a green card holder... I believe you can stay there for a year, as long as you come back in the US every 3 months at least for 2 days. Coz I know if you're out of the country for more than 3 months then your green card will be voided. so you would have to come back and forth which is nice so you can get some more pasalubong from the US!
