Uh why does your family/friends think you might be g*y if you turn girls down thats trying to go out with you and not have a girlfriend once you're 18?

Okay thats a problem I'm having..no no one has said directly that they think I'm g*y or whatever...but from vibes and things they give me (floating in the air) I'm bisexual and not out to my family, but for some reason they seems to act funny of me being the only teenage male in the family with no girlfriend. I like alot of girls around here...but I know I wouldn't be satisfied in a relationship..uh for some reason I feel forced to get into a relationship with a girl....I'm not really into girls sexually (mostly just romantically). Its these three girls that really likes me and has asked me out but I said no to all three of them and my friends and family sayin things like you're crazy not to want to go out with the most cutest girls in the neighborhood. Uh I don't have to be g*y not to want no girlfriend at the time anyways. I know several straight guys thats not that crazy into girls like most straight guys. They're more school boys though (Harvard university) but still attracted to girls!

  1. that is just crazy!

just because your not in a relationship with someone doesnt mean your g*y!

but i think you should try to find some type of girl out there..

  2. i dont think not having a girlfriends meens ur g*y

  3. No. A guy can have a girlfriend and be g*y (but in denial for all anyone knows).

However, what worked for me is I made it seem like I was focused on school too much to let a girl distract me. It works :)

  4. ya a little sorry

  5. Denial ain't just a rive in Egypt

    maybe you are Asexual

you know not really into s*x with men or women

  6. It's your business. But just because you go out with a girl doesn't necessarily mean you have to be boyfriend/girlfriend.

I currently am unattached, but I still like girls. I have no doubts about my sexual preferences and don't really care what anyone else might imagine.

  7. It's understandable to not want to commit yourself to a relationship, but if you're being honest to yourself and to your family about being straight, you should at least give some girls a shot.

Your family is concerned because it seems like you're unsure about yourself. It's okay to be g*y, your family will accept you.

But if you're not, don't pressure yourself into having a girlfriend but go have a good time! Enjoy yourself and learn that saying yes to a couple dates doesn't mean you're in a relationship.

  8. If you wanna take your time getting a girlfriend I think thats cool.Your friends and family are just worried about your love life. All families are.I can`t say that I can give you advice on convincing your family that your not g*y.I mean a lot of people would think that only g*y guys turn down "hot chicks".If your friends and family ask you if your g*y tell them the truth though I think that you should just tell them how you feel.

  9. You're absolutely right.  But please -- clean up your writing grammatically.  Thanks!

  10. Uhh dude, I think you might be g*y.

  11. do as you please and ignore the peer pressure.

  12. So? Let them think that... if what other people say and think bother you this much then you should really prioritize.  I can assure you, other peoples opinions aren't worth the dirt on your shoes.

Sexuality is personal.  In my opinion, s*x is something that should be shared privately to those the person in question choose to share with.  This is one reason I hate p**n... s*x, to me, no matter who you are doing it with, is a private matter and NOT open for discussion among family or friends.

I was called lezbo when I was in school because I didn't have any boyfriends and the boys that asked me out - I always said no.  I didn't say no because I'm L*****n, I said no because I wasn't interested.

As far as facts go - The first person I ever made out with was a girl... the people I have had s*x with are all male... I have a daughter... I have (and am) curious about girls but I'm that doesn't make me L*****n or bi.  Bi curious.. yeah... but who cares?

  13. I think that if you allow ANYONE, family or not -- sense in the air or not -- to push you into a decision that you do not want to make, you are being foolish.

They are NOT living your life.  They are NOT inside your body.  They are other people trying to live vicariously through you.  Don't let them do it.

Do what you want.  It's ok to be bisexual AND its ok to be g*y.  A family that doesn't accept that didn't love you to start with (sorry to be so blunt).

Do what YOU want with YOUR life.  Stop trying to make excuses, you don't need them.  NO ONE has a right to try to tell you how to live your life -- directly or indirectly.  Now dump the internalized homophobia and rather than getting into a relationship you DON'T want, and know you don't want -- start working out what you really are and what you really want.  Alot of boys I've known saying things like you say here as teens were NOT bisexual -- they were g*y.  I'm not saying you are, but its the logical midway point so you can keep hiding from yourself.  You don't need to hide from yourself however, or from anyone else.  You are wonderful just as you are.

Don't assume that the boys you know like girls though -- they may just be closeted.  Over 10% (about 12% actually) of males prefer other males for s*x and relationships -- only 4% are out -- so there are lots more in the closet.

If you have questions about my percentages, see the study "Discordance between sexual behavior and self reported sexual identity" -- Annals of Internal Medicine, September 2006.

Believe in yourself kid, seriously, you are great, you don't need to be anybody else to please others.  You need to be you to please yourself and anyone else worth pleasing.

    Kindest possible thoughts,

    Hermes
