If when you try to leave a guy he is hysterical crying, then looks like he's *about* to throw something, then laughing, then crying, etc. Is that normal?

A) What would you think of someone like that?

B) What if about a year and change ago, during one of these hysterical episodes, this guy tried to commit suicide in front of you?

  1. I would have him committed..it seems that he could use some psychiatric help...

  2. This guy is probably dealing with some form of depresson or otherwise. He's probably really dependant on you because he thinks you "make him happy". which IS NOT your responsibility! you need to be happy and healthy yourself before you can be in a completely healthy relationship.

Helping a partner to get through a rough bout is one thing, but if it's starting to take you down and you recognize that you want out....that needs to be respected by all parties involved.

As much as it may be heartbreaking to deal with that, it's not a healthy relationship for you until he can work out what makes him so upset.

as for the suicide thing- well, it's a cry for attention. it ALWAYS is in one way or another. clearly it's worked. and again, not your responsibility. maybe do a little research on places he can get some help and talk privately with someone like one of his parents that will be around if and when you leave about what can be done to help.

  3. we all go thru some sort of these episodes i myself have been pretty depressed and angry but never hysterical, BUT one of my best friends when his GF left him, he went dam near insane, i think its because some people have not had much to count on in thier life so when something good like a GF happens, they put thier all in it, IM NOT SAYING thier all is great or fantastic, its just what thier able to achive as all. But this same fella was living with another girl for 14 years kids and all and she left him to, and he did it all again, they actually had the police come in and hold him down and remove all the guns from his home. hes doing better but im afraid the next time he may go insane

  4. Most male's greatest fear is abandonment.  Hence the reaction.
