If a job ad says they're drug and alcohol abuse free, does this mean they drug test for every position?

Even if the application didn't say anything about drug testing, just a criminal background check?

Depends on the job, but it would more than likely be spelled out under the terms and conditions of employment. If you're in a position of trust or critical to the mission, they may have random or frequent testing, or you may just have one test before they hire you and never see another again.

alcohol abuse free?  never heard of that one for a job add. drug free, sure. if one were using drugs, why would one apply if the mention of drug free was an option. things have changed. not enough info. what kind of job is it? ask them if they drug test.
