If they ask you to come to orientation does it mean they are going to hire you, they want to hire you, or they just want to see if you like the job?

  1. orientation normally means your hired.

  2. Orientation gives you the advantage to know where things are, how things work - and yeah if you'll actually like it! A manager or someone will probably take you around the place and give you the scoop.

    Hope i helped :D

  3. It sounds like you are definitely in the running - but until they talk salary and you sign a contract - you haven't officially been hired.

  4. You're hired.

  5. Well to me orientation is that you have the job already and they are just bring in new employees to tell them about the company, your benefits and have you fill out some paperwork,

But did you have an interview?

  6. Normally, orientation means you have been hired; this is where you learn about the company, fill out your paperwork and get the information you need to know to start your job. Not all jobs will  have contracts, but if there is one you will sign it and you should also be signing the appropriate tax and hiring forms. Or, they will tell you when you will do that.

They should have told you that were hired, though. Unless they assumed you knew. :)

I have applied for several jobs that had orientations. All of them had 2 or 3 day blocks of time set aside. They explained them to me during the interviews-there were presentations, the forms, discussions about the company, videos about safety and other workplace things. It was also a chance to meet with other new employees and some or all of the company staff.

    Good luck!

  7. They are pretty much hiring you and getting you familiar with the job at hand
