From what I've heard, komodo dragon's bites are only dangerous because they have so much bacteria in their mouth from rotting meat, etc. If you were to feed a dragon clean meat it's whole life, would it's bite still be deadly?

  1. I am no Lizard Expert but i am telling you from what i saw on T.V. that a guy was feeding a Komodo dragon with his own hands and he told that captive one's have less dangerous bite as compared to wild one's.

Here is a link that supports my observation -

  2. Yes, it is because the clean meat will still get stuck between their teeth and rot. Maybe if the meat was in smaller chunks that they can just pop them down without tearing into the meat.

  3. bacteria are EVERYWHERE.. if left in it's natural habitat, it'd be back up to par in no time

of course they are still venomous.. yes they did actually find small venom glands and ducts at the base of their teeth, just like gila monsters and beaded lizards
