If a laser pen is shined directly in the eye for no more than 2 seconds?

if a laser pen is shined in the eye for no more than 2 seconds will it cause damage? if it does can the human eye repair itself?

Can cause short or long term damage. Like looking into welding spark, depends on the individuals tolerances. May not show signs of damage from three to a week later.Not good at all, any exposure.
