If a magic genie appeared to you...?

if a magic genie appeared to you, and said he could guarantee that you would achieve your life goal and be a success in it would you accept it, would you want it so bad that you need it guaranteed. Or would you turn it down, earn it, live your life with something to actually work for. Example, if you want to play sport at a professional level and be famous (I would choose rugby league) would you rather practise, and learn throughout your life and work your way to the top, step by step. Or have it guaranteed and have no reason to practice, or goals to achieve.

Dont be fooled by the words making the proper way sound more tempting, i for one want to play rugby league professionally so bad that i would have to think twice about this question.

  1. The initial reaction would be to say yes!but i don't think it would make me happy i think there would always be some form of guilt associated with it.

  2. i'll earn it- i'll at least know all the steps it took to get me there

  3. It would mean alot more to you if you actually earnt it.

  4. what the f.u.c.k are you on about

  5. In a way you could do both. You could have genie grant to get you there, but if you dont workout and practice you wont stay there long. So get you're wish and train like h**l.

  6. i also want to be successful, special i am not the typical basketball player i am fat and i play the 2 and 3 spots. i can shoot the ball well and run well. i am also a very reliable 3pt shooter and clutch player but since they are fooled by my appearance all the shooting practice and all that c**p has gone to waste i am rarely played by the coach in any league so i never tried to try out for the varsity. but you can ask any player whom i played with and you know who you're dealing with.

    genies are pieces of c**p.

they only promote laziness and people always having wishful thinking.

yes you're on the top but you know you don't deserve to be there because you know there are players who are better than you and work hard more than you'll ever do and still can't play the game since there are overrated players and popular players who are always on the spotlight and stealing the dreams of those below them.

so i say its better to earn what you will reap. you're just fooling yourself.

you might have even sold your soul.

  7. while i only wish i could play for the BULLDOGS . go the doggies. i would have to say i would rather earn it because you would know in your self that you your self didnt earn it and to a real individual thats like cheating. BULLDOGS PREMIERS in 2008.

  8. Nothing in life is as fleeting as sporting success. Look at the Rugby League stars of 12 years ago.  Where are most of them now?  Where are their fans? Who cares except their families and friends?

Stars are given value as people based solely on their performance in a game with arbitrarily assigned rules on a hectare of grass. They are under intense scrutiny. If they do something silly in public, it is all over the news. Despite the exhortations of their clubs, loyalty is never returned. They are dumped the moment they fail to perform or are seen as a little past their prime. They are often left disappointed, isolated and angry at the end of their careers.

If you had a wish, would you really want to be a Rugby League star? Can't you get all the benefits and pleasures of playing Rugby League in a local community league with your friends?
