If a man secretly withholds all his extra money from his partner, does it means he is cheating?

I found out my now ex had a settlement come in and I had no idea and we were living together...what usually does it mean when a man withholds his money from his girl

Well he's certainly dishonest and untrustworthy. I'm not saying he has to give you every penny, but keeping a secret of this kind sounds like he wants to keep another string to his bow...that way if he wants to leave you hanging he can.

Maya Angelou says that every woman should know how to support herself, even if she never needs to, and have a little money in savings in case she needs it. I have to say I agree. There are no "rules of decency" anymore.

Just that they feel it is there money to spend and not to be considered part of household income.  Many married couples now have seperate accounts because they like having control of their money themselves.
