Should a guy get his hair clipped now and again even if he wants to grow it to a very long length (over shoulders), or shold he just let it grow without any trips to the barber?

  1. I'm a guy and I have hair a good deal past my shoulders. You don't necessarily have to get it trimmed, but it's best to take off two inches every once and a while to rid of the split ends.

    hope this helps.

  2. He should get it trimmed every 6 weeks, as this promotes grow.

  3. the only benefit for trims are to stop breakage known as split ends. but if your hair is in good enough condition where as you don't get split ends, then there is no need for a trim. Regular cutting does not make the hair grow strong or faster. To Know more about your hair http://tipsfromruby-hairgrow.blogspot.co... will help you.

  4. He should. There will be  awkward stages throughout where his hair may not look his best and keeping the ends neat and clean will help.

Same with products. Make sure he is using the right product because whether you are male or female long hair is a responsibility. It's old hair so you need to care for it extra.

I love Infusiom leave In conditioner. I add it to a spray bottle and use it everyday. It's that light.

    Also light conditioners.

A "CREAM" like a gel is a great add in to stop all those frizzes.

Just some tips. My hair is to the bottom of my back.

OH .. cutting hair does NOT make it grow faster !!! Use common sense .That is a myth. Hair growth is from the scalp :_)

  5. Trimming is good, but isn't compulsory. Though hair does grow better when trimmed every once in a while. It also promotes the growth of healthy hair and prevents split ends. However, trimming isn't needed if it is above the shoulders. This is because if you keep trimming it when it's that short it will take a very long time to get to your "long hair" goal. I think for trimming every 6-8weeks depending on personal preference is a reasonable amount of time.

  6. It is actually a popular myth that trimming the hair promotes the growth. The way the myth started is because hair look larger when trimmed, normally hair particles have thinner ends then the shaft itself, when you trim it the effect goes away, making hair as the whole appear thicker.

I have a rather long hair and i just stopped doing anything to it. Keep in mind that everybody has the natural equilibrium hair length when the hair falls out at the same rate that it takes to replenish it, and males lose hair faster, so the maximum length will probably not be as that of an average female.

  7. yes he should

  8. Doesn't that defeat the purpose of growing it out?

Getting it cut, no matter what people say, doesn't magically make it grow faster.
