  1. 0.1mm = 1X10^(-4) m

    0.2 microns = 2X10^(-7) m

    Increase factor

    = 1X10^(-4)/2X10^(-7)

    = 1X10^7/2X10^4

    = 1X10^3/2

    =1000/2

    =500 = Ans

An optical microscope used forobserving bacteria often uses a magnification of 1000. Any more would only magnify the blur.
