Question:

If a new car is serviced at a garage other than the actual dealership, is it ok...?

I bought myself a new Honda. If I bring my car to another garage to be fixed, oil change, to put new tires, tune up, etc. when the time comes, does it affect the "Honda" garantee in any way shape or form?

  1. MOST OF THE TIME IT DOESN'T MATTER,ALONG AS THE SHOP YOU TOOK IT TO IS A AUTH. SVC.CENTER FOR THAT MAKE OF CAR,OR THEY HAVE CERTIFIED MECHANICS WORKING ON THEM.

I THINK UNTIL THE WARR. IS OUT I'D USE A HONDA DEALER,DOESN'T MATTER WHICH ONE OF THOSE YOU USE.

  2. as long as its a legitimate repair station regular maintenance or services can not void your honda warranty provided they are performed correctly but be sure to them put their business stamp in your maint log with you cars paperwork be sure to have any major problems checked by the dealer.

  3. It will have no effect on the warranty as long as you have the service records. I work at firestone and people bring there brand new Infiniti's, BMW's, Honda, Etc. for the first oil change on the car and for work. Just bring it to a trustworthy shop though.

  4. you have the right to service you car at any shop you want...it will not void your warranty

  5. it's OK, just keep all the paperwork! We're a Honda family, too. My daughter just traded her 05 Accord for an 08 Pilot- she had her car serviced at Walmart (just basic oil changes) but the new owners wanted proof that the car had been taken car of (as if the condition and low miles weren't enough!) and she brought the paperwork and receipts to the dealership, and it was all good! Congrats on the new Honda! You'll probably NEVER need a "tune-up"- they don't need much until at least 100,000 miles!
