If a person has been a big popular celebrity, and then "falls from grace" because of a publicized scandal ?

That's an interesting question. I think it depends on a number of things. How supportive their family is about the crisis. How they deal with the fallout. By that I mean, do they own up to what they've done publically or do they run and hide. The public has far more respect for those who admit their mistakes. After all, we are all human and we all make mistakes. I doubt it would drive anyone insane. Well, only someone who was already mentally unbalanced to begin with.
