If a person signs over a title and the other person never goes to dmv whos bike is it.?

  1. The other person, it this the buyer or the seller?

    Either way if the title was signed over, it is no longer yours.  With the signed contract and the signed title, they can prove it is NOT yours.

  3. If you signed a bill of sale, it's should be the other parties....penalties & all.

  4. As long as you filled out all the proper info on the title, his name, date of sale and you signed and dated it, It is the other persons bike.  It is just not registered in their name yet. (which is illegal if more than a few days have passed since the transaction took place)  who buys the insurance does not determine ownership.  And the plates are still in your name because the guy hasn't registered it yet and that too, does not make it your bike.  If I were the seller here, I would notify the DMV or the police  that he hasn't registered it yet.  Not to cause him trouble but to protect YOU in case of an accident/incident

  5. If you have the title, it's your car.  You need to get the registration changed, though.
