If a person sinks both a solid and stripe ball do they get to contine their turn or does they loose turn.?

My husband and I were playing pool and we were not calling our shots and after break the table was still open. I sunk both a solid and a stripe. Is it still my turn still to take another shot or do I loose my turn. We are playing just a standard game of 8-ball pool

Under BCA rules for 8-ball, the table is always open after the break shot, regardless of what gets pocketed.  The upcoming player must designate a ball and a pocket and successfully complete the shot to determine stripes or solids.  On an open table, any combination of balls can be used to make the shot, including the 8-ball.  It doesn't matter what was contacted first or if other balls were pocketed on the shot, as long as the called shot was made.  Simple.  Happy shooting.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

It depends what kind of ball that they are playing.  At the same time, which ball went in.  For example, if they are solids and a solid ball went in.  Then they are good to play the next shot.  If a stripe went in, then they lose a turn.

On the break if you sink a solid and a  stripe (in 8 ball) it's still your turn and you can choose which you want to shoot for solids or stripes (usually determined by the best "lie" on the table which you would go for.)

It depends on which ball dropped first. If it was a stripe and you were stripes you get credit and get to shoot again. If it was a solid and you were stripes it's his turn.

In 8-ball, if the table is still open, then you must pick a stripe or a solid to shoot. If you choose to shoot a solid and make it (doesn't matter if a stripe falls or not) you still shoot again.

depends on which balls was struck first. if solid was your ball and it was struck first then play continues. if stripe was struck first and solid was your ball then play is over.

Hi, it depends on a couple of things.  Which ball was struck first if it was a  situation where the cue knocked in a stripe after you shot at the solid.  Some people play that as a currently open table.  Also which ball fell first, a good example is the last shot of a game where you hit the ball you want to and the 8 on the same shot.  If the 8 falls first you lose, but if your target ball falls, then the 8 falls, you are golden....and either lucky or good!

In a friendly game, a normal bar type game not during tournament play or for cash, I would let that person play through unless they called 'slop' and decided to stop their own run.
