What should you do with your arms and feet so that you will float back to the top? Any swimming techniques that you can give me? or links of videos that can teach me survival swimming skills? i know how to swim / tread at the surface / avoid sinking(drowning), but i've never really been at the bottom of the ocean before so i want to know how to swim your way down to the bottom and on your way back up to the surface again.. thanks!

  1. start but kicking hard against the ocean floor it'll give you a nuch needed boost the do a vertical breaststroke but make sure you hands do a full pull from the front to the side

most of all stay calm as if you panic it will lose air faster

  2. If you have a good breath-hold, say 1 to 2 mins, and have a good breast-stroke technique you could swim down to 4m or so and swim back(not float) to the surface. Beware of going too deep in free-diving, else you get complications.

When you swim down, use a modified breast-stroke arm pull towards your side, and the usual breast-stroke kick. When you surface, do likewise. Ensure some friends who are good swimmers accompany your dives. Everyone must wear goggles. For added safety you should practise underwater swimming in deep water in the swimming pool first before venturing out to sea. Always swim close to shore and pack up at the first sign of bad weather. Take essential precautions. Cheers!!

  3. you wont just float back up to the top, you would need to swim normally to get back up but stay calm! if you panic then you are just wasting more energy.

  4. first of all, you cant sink to the bottom of the ocean without all the air being gone from your lungs. the only ways to do that are by blowing out all your air, or if your unconscious . if your unconscious then you wont be able to swim back up, and since there is no air in your lungs, you wouldn't float back up. you can blow all the air out of your lungs, and then sink to the bottom, kick off the bottom, and then swim up in a vertical breaststroke motion. or you can swim to the bottom of the ocean and then float back up easily.

you would only be able to float to the surface if you are not drowning, and you have air in your lungs

if your drowning, then most likely theres nothing you can do to save yourself. there are 3 stages of drowning.  in the first stage you could be like moaning or making weird noises, and your arms are flopping around trying to keep you above water.  in the second stage (a couple minutes after the first stage) your an active drowner. this means that your no longer making verbal sounds, and your arms are doing whatever they can to keep you above water. at this point there are 20 to 60 seconds before you become a passive drowner. at the 3rd stage you are called a passive drowner. this means your unconscious. at all 3 stages of drowning you would need somebody to save you, you wouldnt be able to save yourself.

or, if your just like swimming around and diving underwater and stuff and you happen to be at the floor of the ocean, then kick off the bottom and swim up to the surface with a vertical breaststroke motion.

i dont know if i really answered your question or not.. but w/e
