f a phone line is cut, will there still be noise at the other end of the line? Having difficulties. My internet connection keeps going in and out, so I called Verizon. After 2 1/2 hours we discovered that is was my actual land line. She transferred me to the repair section of Verizon. She had me test my phone in the main box. If the phone worked out there then it was an internal problem....it did. So, on Memorial day weekend I was landscaping near the phone lines. My question is...if I accidently cut a line would I have noise on my line? It is real staticy and then even sounds busy at some points. Please help!!!

  1. nozie06: I just sent information to Big Daddy G. Go read the infor. Also, you probably damaged the wiring going into the house.Gently dig around that cable & see if you nicked it. If yes, cut the outer cover & splice (twist the color to color together,Red to red, Green to green or Blue to blue & Blue white to Blue white) If you have some noise there is some damage. Make sure you tape your connections so they donot get wet. Good luck.  exbelltel

  2. Nobody wants to answer our questions! From what I've experienced, I think if you actually cut through the line that everything would be silent. When I pick up my phone, there is nothing. It's as if I'm holding a phone that's not plugged in. You may have damaged your line though, which would explain the cutting in and out. Your best options would either be to

    1) Do some research and do the wiring yourself (cheapest)

    2) Hire somebody to fix the lines

    3) Let Verizon fix the line (if applicable, most expensive)

    4) Add on some sort of home line feature through Verizon where they will fix any problem, even in your house.

My line is currently completely out. I have no sound, so I'm doubting that you actually cut the line. It may have just been damaged. Also try unplugging all lines from phone jacks and wait a few minutes to see if that helps.

    Good luck!
