  1. A planet can't stop.  Its energy is keeping it moving forward and the gravity of the sun is keeping it on a circular line.   If it were to somehow lose its forward momentum, the gravity of the sun would pull the planet in & the planet would be destroyed in the sun.

  2. "Stops" what...rotating on its axis...orbiting around the sun?

If a planet could somehow stop rotating on its axis but continue to orbit the sun nothing would happen to the solar system.

If a planet could somehow stop orbiting the sun then the other planets would spontaneously adjust their orbits accordingly.

  3. there would be no light day and night

  4. Depends on what you mean by "a planet stops" - stops what?

If the planet stops rotating, nothing happens to the solar system.

There is no way a planet could stop orbiting its star, the star's gravity keeps a planet moving around the star.

  5. No,a planet never stops because of its energy.
