  1. Dave's answer is right except the last sentence. I don't know why he added that in, but if you're playing on bar tables, the ONLY rule you can use is 8 on the break is a win. You'd be a fool to think otherwise.

  2. The shot on the 8 ball has to be a complete separate shot.  You can't pocket the 8 before you have shot all of your suited balls in and then on a separate shot call and make the 8.  If you pocket the 8 ball before that its a loss.  Unless its on the break, then its a rerack or a spot.  Its a fools game to play making the 8 on the break wins.

  3. I assume we are playing eight ball here.

anytime you accidently pocket the eight you lose.

if you were playing a casual game and not calling pockets, )playing slop) and the nine went in first then the eight I suppose you could coubt that as a win but yo would have had to have established through the game that you were allowing slop.

since yo say you called the nine, I gotta assume no slop. you lose.

  4. You lose.  The 8 ball always has to be a separate shot in order to win.

  5. you lose if you knock the 8 ball in before you get all your balls in. yes he loses.

  6. Actually the question states that you are playing with rules to call the pocket for the object ball. Even if you are playing to allow flukes, this is one fluke that is still an “Early Eight” loss of game because the eight must be a called shot. If it’s not called, it’s early. This is the reason why international rules designate the eight must be a separate shot, because it must be called and it can not be combined with sinking your last ball.
