  1. It depends

    If a player is called up from the CHL to play in the NHL, they will be paid the pro-rated portion of their NHL contract based on the number of days they are on the NHL roster and they MUST dress for a game.

    If a player is called up from the CHL to the NHL on an emergency basis (such as Steve Mason was by Columbus earlier this year), the player receives no pay, but does receive his per diem, his airfare, and his room costs (the NHL does not expect underage juniors and their CHL teams to pay for 'emergency' expenses)


  2. I really think it all has to do with their contract.  Even though they are in the minors, they are still under a contract.  It's case by case really.

  3. it depend on what their skill level is....but im pretty sure that there is a $ limit that teams can pay a player from the minor
