If a player wants to go the OHL route, would OPJHL or BCHL be better that USHL or NAHL?

  1. If the player is good enough and has the opportunity to stay in a Canadian league, with the goal to play in the OHL, I'd say stay in Canada at all costs.  They have a habit of preferring either Canadian born players, or Canadian taught players.

    Remember, as a general rule of thumb, though it's not an absolute, American juniors is geared towards college hockey.  Canadian juniors is geared towards the pro game.  Each are different paths, and players really don't have much of an opportunity to choose both.  Once a decision is made, it pretty much, though not always, eliminates the other option.


  2. USHL would be best...

    Then I would say BCHL, then OPJHL, then NAHL.
