  1. they arent even aloud to sell you a drink

  2. It all depends on the resturant it self. If you are going to a restuarnt that is BYOB (Bring your own bottle), then they should not charge you for wine glass usage, if they do charge you for glass usage thats what we call "Nicklle and dimeing" a customer. In most of all places that have BYOB the corcage fee

  3. it happens all the time

  4. They sure can and they do.

Not having a license means they can't sell it to you, it doesn't mean if you bring your own that they can't give you glasses or open it for you.  They may even charge for the glass usage.

  5. Yes.

  6. Yes.  The licence is for selling alcohol.  You've already bought the alcohol elsewhere.  They charge you for allowing you to drink it in their restaurant.

  7. Are you planning on swigging it out of the bottle, if so you might be in with a chance. Of course they can.

  8. yes, it's legal. some are quite expensive aswell, the cheek of them.

  9. They can charge. Even if they do not have a licence to sell alcohol they have to be licenced to be in the catering business - at least in the UK.

It should be a very modest charge. My favourite place for such an establishment is New Zealand. They call them BYO restaurants (Bring Your Own) However many places get a considerable mark up on the sale of alcohol so make the most of any such BYO you do find.

  10. if they don't have a license, they can't even sell you the drink, let alone open it.

edit: got it now...where i live you are not allowed to bring your own drink in anywhere.

  11. nope..
