If a round track has a radius of 100 feet, and you walked around it 5 times,how far did you walk?

i got interested in math so i found this problem but i cant figure it out isn't there a formula for that??

  1. there is a formula.  the perimeter of any circle is 2*pi*radius

    pi=3.14159...

    so 5*2*3.141*100 = 3141 feet


  2. Sure. Circumference (all the way around a circle) = twice the radius times Pi (3.14159...)

    S0 100 feet x 2 x 3.14159 = 628.318.

    Since you did it 5 times, you walked 5x 628.318 = 3141.59. Lets just say 3142 feet which also works out to about .6 miles.
