If a shop is open 24/7 365 days a year why are locks on the door?

incase a hurricane comes or the power goes out or if for some reason they DO need to close. In case of emergency.

No shop in England does this.  They are not allowed by law.  They have to shut for a certain amount of time each week.  24/7 Tescos shuts at 4 on Sundays - they are required by law to do so......

I would think that one point they may need to lock the doors to do inventory, money issues, and cleaning.
