  1. That means the programming code is free and available. Which makes the application free to use with no restrictions. You can even modify the code or add to functionality to it if you knew how.

    The apps are created by regular people who contribute their time to give us free and useful tools.


  2. It means that every line of code used to make that program is avaliable for download and inspection.

    Many people bevielve that "Open Source is knowlege" and that every program should be open source.

    Source files include C++ Header files, Java script files, .cpp files, and many more.

  3. It means your allowed to use it, redistribute it and sell it - be aware that copyright laws still apply to it.

  4. Basically it means it's free. It has been written so that it may be used, copied or distributed without a license agreement.
