If a solo yahoo group moderator has gone missing for a year, is there any way to transfer the job?

Since nobody can approve new members, things are about dead - so if there's no way to do it, so much for that group, time to pull any useful information out of it and leave it to dead storage.

  1. Unless the owner had added additional moderators and owners to the group the only thing that can be done is to start a new group.


  2. If the moderator is different from the owner, there is a solution. The owner can remove that member as moderator and appoint a new moderator. But if the owner and mod are the same person, I suggest you start a new  group. There is no way to get in charge of that group.

  3. Yahoo will not appoint someone at this time. only someone with the priviledges can appoint a new moderator/ owner. many groups (zillions) are in this same situation with a MIA owner. nothing you can do but start a new group and invite current members to it, or locate another active group with an active owner.
