If a station is in 2 travelcard zones (e.g. Greenwich) can I travel with the cheapest season ticket?

Greenwich is in zone 2 and zone 3, so if I want to travel from there to zone 1 everyday will I need a zone 1-2 travelcard or a zone 1-3 travelcard?

if you want to travel from zone 1, you'd buy a travelcard for zone 1 and 2.

if a station is in two zones, you buy a ticket to cover from where you are travelling from, the zones you travel through, and the zone of your final destination.
