  1. Yes,if the family is the branch that INHERITS the title.Peerage.com,Debrett's and Burke's Peerage deal with royalty and the titled aristocracy. The family branch that inherits the title names are listed. Not every member of the family tree necessarily has a title, but they are part of a family that is the gentry. And not everyone who simply bears the same surname is titled. The websites list the actual titles a certain person, and their children, may bear. Some nobility have Life Peerages which are not passed down to the next generation, which is why their children don't have titles. Another reason a child may not have a title is if the father is untitled;their mother maybe Lady Fiona---,but titles pass through the male line(very few exceptions for the UK).A title may also be a low ranking title like Baronet, where the child is simply a Mr./Mrs./Miss/Ms.Other lower ranking titles that don't give special titles to children but do give them the right to be called "The Honorable Mr./Miss Given Name Surname" are Baron(exception:eldest son in Scotland is called Master of-),Viscount(in Scotland same exception for eldest son).

  2. Not necessarily.  It means that that particular individual or individuals are.  It does not necessarily mean that everybody with that surname is a part of the peerage system.

  3. i dunno but my last name came up :O :S
