that an an opponent used a racial slur toward one of the team members, but the ref didn't hear it, what does he do?

Only answer this if you are an actual hockey ref.

  1. let em have a good ol fashioned hockeyfight.


  2. In Minor Hockey you have 3 choices.

    One: Is you can totally ignore it telling them that since you didn't hear it you can't do anything.

    Two: is you can mention it to the coach and the player that said whatever he said.

    Three: you can give the player a penalty and give him a warning. (this is the most probable one and the one I use.)

  3. I assume you're talking about very young hockey players up to High School. The best course of action to take is mention it to the other team's coach. The bond players share with their coaches is very unique and you should trust the coach to correct any problems if there are any. You cannot call a penalty though unless you catch the remark.

  4. Nothing, you can't

    It's like a player coming up to you and saying they were slashed.

    If you didn't see/hear it you can't call anything
