Yes there is a tornado less than 22 miles away from me, it was very windy but has calmed down, it goes off and on but when it does it gets pretty windy. It is pretty sunny where I am but if I look towards the north it is all dark and very cloudy the clouds are black and dark gray and it seems that the wind is blowing towards the darkness

  1. i will be worried cuz it could possibly spawn another one

  2. I'd be worried cuz what goes up must come down, and some of it might carry 22 miles.

  3. Not if it continues heading in a northwesterly direction.

  4. if the 'rope' was on the ground, its not likely to travel 22 mi.

if this storm is headed southeast, it is possible to spawn another

tornado. I'd watch for funnels forming in the clouds, and seek shelter

if any formed within a few miles,or the wind got above about 80mph

  5. Call your local police or sheriff and ask them if they have an EARLY WARNING SYSTEM that works.

You should be worried if it apears to be moving towards you.

  6. Not usually a big deal if it's northwest of you, but it means conditions are right for their formation, so pay attention to the radio or satellite imagery.

IF, on the other hand, it's southwest of you, then get ready to take shelter. They usually travel in a northeasterly direction.
