  6. A "station" is any place named in a timetable, whether trains stop or not, usually a siding that has been given a name.

People board and detrain at "passenger stations."

My apologies for taking your wit seriously...

  7. your puter crashes

  8. I don't know, they only talk about that in management meetings, which I am not privy to.

  9. At a train station the train stops to conduct the business of getting people on and off the train is done.  At a work station you stop to conduct the business your employer requires you to do.

  10. Are you kidding or are you really wanting to know?

In the event you really want to know, a train station has several definitions. One definition is, where passengers board and detrain. Another definition is, in a freight yard the office where crews show up for work, can be considered a train station or yard office.

A work station is normally used in reference to freight service. In freight service there are several locations where "local" trains stop and spot or pull cars from customer tracks. Most of these can be found in a railroads time table, but there are instances where a customer is at a location that has no specific name or station ID.

  11. the train does not stop permanently at the train station. The work station is a modern technology term applying to computers linked to an intranet where knowledge and trade begin and start but will eventually stop after a time.
