  1. You know, I have the strangest feeling that this is a trick question lol

  2. Yes of course. There may be no one around, but all the other little creatures are there. So they'll hear it

  3. Depends on the individuals interpretation of sound. If it does not reach anyone's ears and no one actually hears it, then does it make sound?  Try watching "What the Bleep do we Know?".........

  4. If a tree falls, and lands on a mime, does anyone care?

  5. Haha! It truly depends on who you ask!... Socrates says no. Newton says no. Actually I say no as well. An existence is only a perception. Beyond that is strictly belief or faith. The people before believe there would be a sound. There is no way of knowing for sure, therefor the absolute answer would be absolutely not. No such thing as sound if it can't be heard.

  6. i don't think it makes a sound..i mean sound is actually if theres anyone around to hear it so if no one can hear it than idk if it does really make a sound..idk if you get what I'm trying to say but thats what i think...

If no one is around to see, hear, touch or smell the tree, how could its existence occur?...got it from wikipedia

  7. Of course. I don't think the sound depends on whether or not you heard it. If it exists, then it depends on nothing but the tree falling.

Think of it this way: if you set up a camcorder and left and then watched the video after the fall, you'll hear he crash.

Why is sound different from sight. If no one was there to see the tree fall, does it mean that it never happened? Of course not, because people will arrive at the spot and find a fallen tree, except sound doesn't leave physical evidence, but it exists all the same.

  8. yea all the little animals will hear it

  9. Yes, it makes a sound. But you didn't hear it.  It's just like this: an meteor about to hit earth.  If noone knew about it, it's still happening, and no one will know until it's too late.

  10. what did you say? I can't hear you! :D so... do you read nickelodeon magazine?

  11. Unless it is a virtual tree in a virtual forest, yes there is still a sound.  Whether anyone or anything is there to hear / interpret does not negate the sound.
