someone said we would explode because of lack of outside pressure. is this true. and if it is why don't astronauts living in space centers stay unexploded, they don't wear the full suit garb inside as well.

  1. There is zero pressure in space since there are no gases in open space. I'm not sure if you would explode but probably you would start to inflate (the opposite of what would happen if you were at the bottom of a deep ocean). All your inner fluids will spill from your bodily cavities. The body would freeze very quickly as well. Unprotected radiation from the sun will finish you off quickly as well. As for your other question: Astronauts do not blow up inside because the air pressure is normalised, just as in an airplane.

  2. you would freeze and suffocate. I don't know about exploding, but I doubt it. There is pressure in space, just not the same kind as on Earth. Your body would be sore from the adjustment, (pretending you do survive the lack of air and the freezing temperature) maybe feel like you got hit by a truck, but you wouldn't explode.

  3. that's because the space centers are already pressurised.

when they go out to repair/maintaining the center, they do use space suit.

I think we wouldn't explode as there's no pressure @ space? so, we would be like a hissing balloon out there.
