courage & admiration & sympathy?

or

stupidity & foolishness?

Explain if you'd like about which you chose. Especially if the person is feared among most and that most would never dare to challenge him/her or out speak him/her.

  1. We all know the expression, "Stupid is as stupid does".  The same is true about courage.  "Courage is as Courage does".  One cannot answer your question without projecting facts not in evidence.  If a "bully" was the powerful person in your analogy and he was victimizing someone and opposed by the weaker man, he would be seen as heroic and rightly so.  If on the other hand, the powerful person was a world class arm-wrestler and the weaker challenged him to a match just to try to impress his date, he would be perceived as clownish.

Admiration, sympathy etc. are subjective and say far more about the person reacting than the person being reacted about.

  2. Well how is a weak person determined..by status, by knowledge , by what...If a "weak" person challenges a "stronge person than in the beginning they have made a leap...the outcome is not important and if it is important to the weak person than ideally that is why they are weak...in actual fact  that does not show weakness but strength, strength to challenge and face that of the strong person...so my answer is courage..and courage comes from within...which in turn translates into strength

  3. Courage and admiration.  The weak person is not supposed to win against the strongest person, therefore putting up a tremendous effort equals standing in the eyes of the onlookers.

  4. its depends on the situation and the reason for the challenge.  If I go and punch chuck liddell in the face unprovoked and for no reason other than to start a fight, no one would view this as courage, admiration, or give me sympathy.  They just say i got what i deserved.  But if it was some bully and I take a stand for good reason then yes i may get sympathy and be viewed as courageous.

  5. Depends on the situation.  In the case of David and Goliath, david proved to be courageous because he trusted in God.  But if you do not have that inspiration, a cause or atleast a strategy, you're a dumbass.

  6. Courage!

I consider myself to be a weak person, without God!

But I have been challenged by the devil himself and won!  Only because God is with me always!

  7. the question is why is the person classed as weak? and what are they standing up for? to stand up to someone like that is not weak so i'd go with a. why? because the person is probably powerful in the first place cos it is he/she who usually speaks out and they themselves may not b challenged, whereas the "weak" person probably is all of the time..notice how weak people get picked on? there's my example. anyway doesnt matter whether they win or lose it's the fact that they stood up, so i go with A. btw i dont like the word weak.

  8. I wish people could reconize that this person would be couragous brave etc but most likely no every one would have a good laugh that he got beat up ..sad..

  9. To challenge somebody stronger than you is foolhardiness.
