If a woman is raped, should she be able to get an abortion if she wants to?

Straight-forward question with a yes or no answer. This isn't about false accusations and all that jazz. This is black and white, do you think she has the right or not?

How the rape happened is not relevant. The fact is that she was raped, and she got pregnant because of it. Should she have the choice whether to abort or not?

What leads you to your conclusion?

  1. Yea, i'm pro-life, but i'm gonna have to concede the point in this case.

  2. 2 wrongs don't make a right.

  3. Yes. And even if she hasn't been raped.

The choice should be up to her, based on her own situation and circumstances, with the advice of whoever she wants to consult.

    Cheers :-)

  4. Absolutely. 100% Yes. Explanation: Nobody wants to be reminded of their rapist, even if it IS a baby.

  5. the fact that anyone would suggest that she has the child and gets it adopted makes me sad, why should a women have to bare through months of pain to have a child she will give away just because some predator raped her? my answer is that all women should have the right to get an abortion even if the father of the child dosen't want her to, its her body, so she can do what she wants.

  6. Hopefully the rape treatment will include Plan B.

I don't know if I could have delivered a rapists child.

  7. Yes, she should.

  8. Yes.

  9. Yes, if it's not late term though.

  10. Yes she should have the choice but hopefully she will choose to put the child up for adoption.

  11. I don't understand why someone would want to kill a life because they are rapped.

And my niece is a product of rape. And I have two friends that had their children due to rape. So I'm totally against them.

AND ALL THREE have said the same thing having their children somehow made it easier to deal with the emotional trauma of being rapped.

And I was rapped! And if I had gotten pregnant I would had kept my child.

Totally no excuse to murder a child and their shouldn't be one.

  12. Absolutely. You have described my own personal tragedy from 22 years ago. And after all of these years of physical and emotional struggles, I can assure you, that if I was in that situation again, I would resolve it in a very same fashion. For all the religious nuts with overzealous desire to protect embryo: if you had to overcome something like that in your self righteous life, embryos and other people's business would be the very last of your worries. Did it ever occur to you, that children conceived in crime might not have a soul? Would not that make sense, after all the anguish and pain their mother had to go through? And I am not even talking about their soulless father here...

  13. i think she should put it up for adoption, but then again i don't think anyone would want a rapist's baby, would you?

  14. yes

  15. And Why do you think otherwise i.e why should she not have the necessary rights?

  16. What do you mean, "should she"?  She already DOES have the right, so yes, of course!

    And thank God for that.

  17. I'm still undecided, because I can't decide whether I believe an embryo is alive.  If it is, then no matter the situation, terminating the pregnancy amounts to murder, and just because she was raped doesn't give her the right to kill.  But if it isn't, then I have no problem with it.

It's all about where you believe life begins.  Everything else doesn't matter.

  18. She can go to Canada if she wants to wait until she's ready to give birth.  If she wants 40 weeks to think about.

  19. Yes.

She should not be required to endure a consequence of some one else's behavior.

  20. Why yes she should have that right. I believe in choice. Also I don't believe in getting an abortion as a form of birth control. If she was raped and pregnant she could run into several problems. What if the guy who raped her has aids. Or does drugs etc. Would that be fair to the child."?

  21. Women should be able to get an abortion if they had consensual married s*x in the missionary position in the dark, and every situation worse than that as well.

As for needing a man's permission- I'll endorse that when they find a way to move fetuses into a man. He wants it, he can carry it.

  22. Yes.

In fact, ANY pregnancy, from rape or not, should be able to be terminated by a safe, medical abortion at the woman's choice.

If it was NOT due to rape, consulting her partner _would_ be the honorable thing to do, but that should NOT be required.

    It's her belly.  Her choice.

    EDIT:

To the "thumbs down" folks - Your opinion won't change anything.  I've done patient escort duty and clinic defense at women's clinics, and stopped your ilk from interfering with women getting abortions, which is their RIGHT.

And I'll do it again in the future.

  23. I am pro-choice so I think you know my answer.

  24. A woman should be allowed to have an abortion whether she was raped or not.  So my answer would be yes.

  25. no matter what a women can get an abortion

  26. I think so
