If a wwII dive bomber . SDB, pilot is killed can the rear gunner land the aircraft?

  2. My guess is no; he's facing the wrong way, and I doubt he has flight controls at his station.

  3. I don't believe there was access from the cockpit to the gunners position.  So I believe the answer is No.

  5. Only if he can climb out on the wing and throw that dead guy out and climb in and land it. It could be done I suppose... he would then immediately go in to his Sqdrn CO and want his upgrade and pay.

    I got to fly the last flying SBD down in Corpus Christi back in 1983,  it's a nice little airplane.
