  1. The only possible answer to your question is Absolutely Corrupt... But then, as there is Absolutely NO credible evidence for the existence of 'god'... Oh, my... I'm all mixed up.

  2. You are comparing a coined term about humans ability to be corrupted by power with something infinitely different. That is similar to doctor or scientist assuming what is good for the mosquito is good for a human, or someone believing there is no difference between a plant and the soil it is planted in.

Be that as it may, God’s omnipotence cannot corrupt because He is omnipotent (it is an attribute). If something is perfectly and fully a part of you, you cannot lack it or desire more of it. God = all powerfulness. God is also not dependent on anything created by Him, because that would mean the creation is higher than the creator which is impossible.

“Absolute power” given to a politician is not absolute, and that is one of the reasons why it corrupts absolutely. For dictators etc. there is always a fear that something will threaten the power that they have, be it a person (people), a country, or nature. Another concern is that the power is limited and temporal...so are their live. Since their power is delicate and may be destroyed, these dictators tend to be violent and domineering. They understand that their power is not “absolute” but limited and thus strive for more power and control to feel comfortable in their power placement.

  7. Above the fray.

  8. This does not apply to God as the power thing applies to humans as we are power hungry by nature

  9. In God's hands

  10. Irina, man's limitations and beliefs are not God's limitations or beliefs.

  11. Actually, the Christian God doesn't have absolute power - yet.  He has given people free will and He doesn't control us like robots, so He doesn't have that power.  Also, I think the evil one said to Jesus "I've been given power over all the kingdoms of the world" so God has temporarily given that power to the evil one.

Even when God regains absolute power, He will still be a Benevolent Dictator, in my opinion.  Jesus will reign from Jerusalem and require all nations to bring Him tithes and offerings.  And those nations that do not bring them will be hit with plagues.  You may choose to call that corrupt.  Some of us don't.

  12. I guess it just depends on what you consider to be God. By your question it sounds as if you consider God to be a hard to contact person who is held to the same standards and human condition as yourself. If that is indeed the case then we have no choice but to assume that God is equally prone to such corruptness and indeed absolutely corrupt.

If however you see God as something which transcends human existance then the question is moot.
