If albinos were...?

Back when there was slavery, if you were albino, could you really be a slave still? Because wasn't it basically about skin color? Or just your heritage and the fact that you were african?

  1. I bet if your facial features were African-like you'd still get treated like an African. But I see your point.


  2. I believe that they would be slaved regardless, because back in those  times the slave owners mainly went by the slaves skin complexion, bone structure along with there hair texture!!...I hope this helped!!

  3. During slavery there were ginger haired porcelain skinned slaves. Generally the rule was, if your mother was a slave, you were a slave no matter what you looked like. So an albino slave was still a slave.

    Sally Hemmings (Thomas Jeffersons bit) was a quadroon (quarter black) and looked white. Their kids all looked white, one even being the ginger haired one I mentioned before. They were all manumitted upon Jeffersons death.
