  7. Yep, terrestrial refers to Earth and its inhabitants.  There are terrestrial fauna and flora, landforms, weather patterns, etc.  Related words include terra (the earth - you may have heard "terra firma"), and terran - an inhabitant of the earth.

  8. Not necessarily. Carbon is not endemic to Earth, and it is possible that life came from other planets. so, In a way, it's possible for humans to be thought as Extra-terrestrials too.
