  1. Unidentified Flying Birds.

  2. It could also be genetic memory. Cultures around the world also have drawings of dragons. Which might stem from our fear of some sort of similar animal(maybe dinosaurs). The same might be said for mysterious flying objects. Some animal could have eaten man's early ancestors that flew.

  3. Heres a better question:

If the universe is infinite, how could aliens NOT be real?

    Humanity is so conceited.

  4. Gee, maybe humans are smart?

That's the real problem with "the gods came from the sky and taught us everything." It requires that humans are stupid. That they can't do simple math, cut stones and pile them on top of each other.

It assumes people couldn't stay up after dark and watch the stars, recording their movements and developing calendars.

Ever flown in a dream? Had a few too many drinks or tried some drug? If you created some supernatural being, wouldn't you give it the power to fly?

Consider your logic. It assumes aliens are real. OK, please present the hard, physical evidence. We'll get back to you after we examine it and determine it couldn't have been done on earth. You see, "Science can't explain..." is a cop out.

Those that make the claims must produce the evidence. That's science. Nope, lights in the sky are just lights, not the starship "Enterprise."

Extraordinary claims require extraordinary evidence. Lets start with a well preserved spaceship please.

  5. ET's are real, and I believe they are contributors to the DNA of much of our global population, and I also believe that they function as part of our population.  There is so much data that is kept in incredibly secure hidden sites managed by the military in many nations, including their aircraft, dead ET's, and I believe that the sudden leap of our technical development results from the technological sophistication gleaned from these objects.

  6. aliens are real and all around you. ever wonder why they can't find that ever so important missing link between man and ape. it didn't happen on this planet.

also read the bible it is full of alien encounters.

  7. They often drown dinosaurs all over the World also but Evolutionist don't believe that ether.

  8. You should try reading the Hindu epics. Flying machines (vimanas) nuclear bombs, lasers... it's better than Star Trek.

The technology for the Baghdad battery wasn't that impressive. You should take a look at the Mahabharata and Ramayana for technical descriptions of how to make the alloys for space craft, and describing the noise they make on take off, and the Mercury powered engines.

Also, read Ezekiel for a great description of a spaceship landing!

  9. Ancient civilizations from around the world mentioned flying beings?! I don't think so. At least not in the way you're thinking. The Aztec calendar only works if you go by it but it doesn't jive with the Julian calendar. And that old battery, maybe it is and maybe it isn't. But so what if it is?

  10. Remember "War of the worlds"? That really happened! They all got colds and died.

  11. I am with Icabodwa on this.  His answer is clear and to the point.

I also agree that human's have an inflated sense of self-importance.  The more we learn from science, the more obvious this becomes, and the less significant we appear to be in the grand view (though no less so to ourselves!!!).

And finally, I hope that there are sentient beings besides humans right here on earth, let alone the rest of the vast universe.  Since we tend to define intelligence in a way which makes it unique to us, I have my doubts whether we would be able to recognize it if we encountered it.

Let me pose a few questions in response:

Many ancient cultures tell very similar stories about cyclopses, giants, dragons and sea monsters - which describe these creatures very similarly from one place to another.  Does this suggest that they exist or existed at one time?  or is it possible that somebody made up a story and it got passed around an recycled from culture to culture  by the chattering hairless ape that we have proven ourselves to be?

  12. 1. People see birds and other flying creatures, and imagine the same ability. Once people discovered bat echolocation, people imagined the same ability; that doesn't imply that some alien visitors could echolocate.

    2. Perhaps people noticed that storing gold objects under certain conditions would dissolve the gold into solution, and that storing other metal objects in certain conditions would deposit something on the metal. Perhaps eventually, they discovered how to use one clay pot to dissolve gold, and another clay pot to deposit the gold onto another metal object. People discover many things through trial and error.

    3. It's more than likely that there is some intelligent life elsewhere in the universe. It's less than likely that any has visited earth. Space is *big.* Space is *huge.* It is several light-years to the nearest star (excepting Sol).
