  1. If I understand your question correctly, your asking why we can't burn other fuels like Propane, Natural Gas, and fuels like that, correct? Well the answer is, distribution. Now I do have a car the runs on Natural Gas. It costs me 69 Cents per gallon to run my car. If every gas station in every state took the time to convert over to other fuels, the time and cost would been more then most stations could afford to do. the one thing I enjoy most about NG is I have a device that allows me to fill up at home. also since I purchased the conversion kit, installed it myself, I am also still able to burn Gasoline. I use the NG most often while around town and keep the Gas on hand for the long trips I may take. so in answer to your question, why is it so special? It's been around so long it's what we are set up for.

  2. there is nothing special. its just that we we're used to it that way. there are alternative fuels.. (cooking oil, water, LPG, etc....)

  3. there isn't really anything special except money.  Plus they do have vehicles that run off of propane, and other combustible materials.  I wouldn't reccomend putting anything in it other than plain old gas. unless you running a diesle.

There is quite a few products which are cheaper that they can make fuel out of.  but whats the point of that, if they wont make as much money?

  4. your an idiot, it's the cleanest combustible for a vehicle.
