If all life in the universe died, will the universe cease to exist?

Question

if all life in the universe died will the universe cease to exist due to the loss of perception of the universe by the living organisms? Would that mean that life was destined to happen in this universe? Does it mean that life and the universe are dependent on each other? How does the universe exist if there is nobody to percieve it? I heard that the mind makes a memory of everything that you see and stores it. If thats so how does the universe exist, is it just pure memory stored inside our brains?; the brains which have the capacity to do this? all answers are apppreciated. Please discuss in details

I don't know.  I would like to take the scientific approach that matter is a physical thing and therefore not effected by us.  But, I think that everything is dictated by us the observers.  This thought is being proven today my quantum physics.  I am even pondering the thought that if I don't matter to the universe then why am I even here?  I think another thought should be on the butterfly effect.  I mean if I don't do something seemingly unimportant could it end the universe in a billion years?  We'll never know but should live like we are important just in case we are.

No. But there would be no one around to observe it.  The existence of something does not depend on whether there is anything around to perceive it.

the universe existed before we were here, and it will exist long after we have left (hopefully, unless we all die in 2012)

Did the universe exist before there were any self aware systems in it? I think it did, and so it will continue to be, even if all self aware systems are extinguished.

the existence of the universe has nothing to do with life perceiving it, it is incidental that we should acknowledge there is such a universe.
