If progress stopped how would be have the ability to select which human traits we wanted?  Unless, of course, it stopped after we developed that "trait choosing" technology thingamajig (called the TraitChooser300,000).  Then I think the traits we'd want would be creativity and ingenuity.  That way we could try to invent a way for progress to never stand still again.  Maybe it'll be called the ProgressProgressor2000.

  3. Well those traits that would be selected would most likely depend on the conditions of the environment. Most likely climate would be an important factor in the selection  of traits in human beings. for example you live in a very cold place. If the descendants of such a people were to survive in a frigid environment, having a stocky body would be a great help in fighting off the cold.
