  1. No, the brokers in the NYSE would still find a way to jack it higher...

  2. Well that is really a good question. Since there are only about 5,000 to 10,000 real activists/alarmists who believe in their cause, that would not be enough reduction in demand to warrant a price decrease.

BUT, if those who are also into the cause for the profit, a total of about 1,000,000 to 5,000,000 people, then we are talking about a very significant reduction in demand and yes, the price would go down.

Now please note that these are only figures within the US and not world wide.

  3. I doubt it. There aren't enough of them who are truly dedicated enough to seriously inconvenience themselves.

Most of them like to preach a lot better than they perform.

Actually, if gas useage fell it would not seriously affect prices.

Opec and speculators are the primary cause of gas price inflation.

That and the US Congress which, to appease the environmental alarmists, refuses to allow drilling in areas wherein we know substantial resources of oil can be found.

This fraud called Ethanol is a gambit to let some very rich or important players get richer. There will never be enough ethanol to solve our supply problems but ADM and some large farmers are reaping fortunes.

Ethanol is already causing food prices to rise and it has only started.

In Mexico it may, in fact, contribute to food shortage problems. Eventually we will see substantial increases in prices of everything which is dependent on corn. Milk, meat,

dairy products, corn based sweeteners thus sodas, syrups etc.

I say let all the activist/alarmists ride their bikes.

Maybe enough of them will be hit by Ethanol powered cars to shut them up.

  4. Not likely, activsts are not likely to bicycles any place, it's a plane to go any place for them

  5. NO

The gas prices are rising due to problems in the middle east, and the fact that its a non renewable source - i.e its running out , the amount of oil left in the world is constantly decreasing. Logically therefore- the price will increase constantly

Certain highly misguided invasions haven't helped either.

Its not the demand which is causing the huge price rise.

and another thing - "domestic" oil use is tiny compared to that of industry / military. And I don't think that people are going to be riding bicycles to war anytime soon.

So I am m100% sure that your suggestion would not be effective

    and by the way

I do ride a bicycle - saves me hundreds of pounds a year, and gives me a good hours workout everyday. try it.

  6. no it would just not go up

because there would be a smaller demand

but you pay almost 6 dallors for a gallon of soda pop so i would not complain
