  1. No!

  2. No it would be terrible, think of the people that watch soaps all the time, some people would end up very pissed off.

  3. NO- the soaps are good earners for the TV companies.

  4. I don't know if that's such a good idea. Soap Operas serve a purpose and entertain a pretty big selection of people. Daytime soaps in particular are very well loved by many people. The elderly, stay at home parents, and a lot of women of all ages adore the drama and are very hooked to their characters. Frankly, all the talk shows and reality c**p on television all looks the same. In fact, it's getting trashier as the years go by. Soaps provide great storytelling full of romance, adventure, fantasy, drama, and even humour; you really can't get this anywhere else on TV.

That said, the ratings are dwindling each year. It is also pretty cost prohibitive - meaning it's a very expensive medium to keep going.

  5. I do not think it would be a bad thing to be quite honest. Eastenders is a complete pile of rubbish .

  6. h**l no! And I don't even watch soaps. Thanks to shows such as Eastenders, Corry, Neighbours, Home and Away, Casuality & All Saints I get limitless time to play my xbox & smoke weed.

And if you are in anyway responsible for these shows been taken off air....I will come to your house....and I will stab you.

  7. yes dont watch any of them rubbish

  8. I love soaps, but it would probably be a cost saving thing.  Daytime chat shows and game shows are much cheaper to produce... but I really think that network loyalty branches from soaps, so it makes sense to keep them on (as long as people are watching) so that there wouldn't be outcries from angry viewers towards the networks.

  9. it 's more a question of would what they replaced them with be considerably better , and how/ in what ways(s)?

And even if (some/ "all" ) broadcasters dropped soaps, there are so many new channels on cable that a new 'soaps only' channel would be bound to sprout up!

All those unemployed crews, staff and casts would have to find new work and no doubt they'd band together to produce new work somehow ..

  10. Eastenders used to be good - until Bianca and Ricky came into it - i cant stand them!!!!!

  11. No! millions of actors and different people would be with out a job. Plus - i love my soaps. It is the only thing that makes the real world bearable at times.

  12. no because I think I would have to kill myself. How else does one get away from reality???????????????

  13. yes.
