If all the insects on the planet died out, would the human race survive, if so, for how long?

Thousands of years, but we would have most of our time taken up

pollinating food plants with Q-tips.

The human race would not survive.   I have good reason to believe this because it is documented that cockroaches are descendant from the dinosaur times.  If all insects were to die out,  the whole human race would follow.   Perhaps millions of years in the future,  we would see a resurgence of dinosaurs.   It is something to think about.

If all the insects died, it would logically follow that the bees had gone extinct. This would mean that nothing would pollinate our crops, & the human race would not last very long.

We need them to pollinate our crops

and Nature needs them even more

to pollinate everything else

most animals if not all would die .

because of crucial breaks in the food chains

maggots and other insects are crucial in decomposition

soils would become contaminated,compacted and with out substance.

so if the whole world rots we would be poisoned by the gas .

or succumb to one of the many diseases that will them prevail

No. Many of the other animals and plants vital to the food chain eat bugs. Many bugs also contribute to other aspects of our lives. For example, bees pollinated plants to make new plants. Without new plants, everything we eat would not exist (even the cows). We would last a bit, but not too long. It's not like we'd only have a few hours to live, but we probably couldn't survive multiple years or anything.
